Electroacoustics |
In this area state-of-the-art instruments are being developed, such as:
- A type 1 environmental noise monitoring system with a GPRS interface that includes environmental conditions monitoring for permanent or semi-permanent installations.
- A type 1 audiometer (IEC60645-1-Ed-2) based on a digital signal processor.
- A microphone power supply unit, with USB interface, to calibrate sound calibrators using insertion voltage technique.

Acoustic Metrology |
Current work in this area is focussed on calibration systems for acoustic instruments, such as sound calibrators, sound level meters, audiometers, dosimeters and fractional-octave-band filters.

Virtual Instrumentation
The group has a strong experience in the application of virtual instrumentation technologies. Several automated measurement systems have been developed for industry with LabVIEW, HPVEE and CVI. Special attention is being payed to research on real time data acquisition and processing platforms for fusion experiments (TJ-II device from CIEMAT in Spain). |

Audio Signal Processing
The research group is working in the implementation of decomposition algorithms in fractional-octave-band for their application in the development of electroacoustic instruments based on DSP. |
